There is a slight improvement in the overall health condition of Sathya Sai Baba who has been undergoing treatment for multi-organ dysfunction, doctors attending on him said in Puttaparthi on Saturday.

"Sri Sathya Sai Baba continues to be stable and there is a slight improvement in the overall condition of his health. He continues to be on the ventilator and periodic slow hemodialysis. The functions of the kidneys and lungs are also showing improvement," a health bulletin issued on Saturday evening by A N Safaya, director of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, said.

"He is responding satisfactorily to the treatment being given to him by the panel of doctors," it said.

85-year-old Sai Baba was admitted to the super-speciality hospital following problems related to heart and lung. Doctors treating him have said he is suffering from multi-organ dysfunction and that he is responding well to the treatment.

Meanwhile, devotees of the Sai Baba continued their prayers here for his speedy recovery. A group of devotees conducted bhajans throughout the day near Prasanthi Nilayam, the abode of the godman, for his good health.

Life returned to normalcy in the spiritual town with Baba's condition making slow progress.
