S K Tripathi, an official of Research and Analysis Wing Administrative Service, will take charge of the external intelligence agency from December 30 for a period of two years.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the Department of Personnel and Training said the appointments committee of the Cabinet cleared the name of Tripathi, an officer of 1972 batch of RAS, to take charge of Secretary (Research and Analysis Wing), Cabinet Secretariat from K C Verma, a 1971-batch IPS officer of Jharkhand cadre who will superannuate on December 30, 2010.
Sanjeev Tripathi, who heads the Aviation Research Centre, a part of RAW, was an IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh.
