The Rajasthan police are interrogating 66 Pakistani nationals who visited Pushkar town in Ajmer district allegedly violating visa norms.
"The leader of the group has said that they have visited India two-three times. So halting in a town which is not mentioned in the visa, after being aware of all the norms creates suspicion and we are investigating it," an official with the Criminal Investigation Department official said.
The official said the role of a Gujarat-based tour operator, who had booked accommodation for the group in the town, is also being investigated.
"We have informed the state government and further actions including push-back process will be taken on tomorrow for violating visa norms," he said, adding that the group would stay in the town under police surveillance until then.
State CID personnel on Monday seized their passports for visiting Pushkar without obtaining permission.
The group had inadvertently halted at the town on their way to New Delhi from Jodhpur. As per their visa, they were permitted to visit Delhi, Jodhpur and Mathura, said police sources.Metro bridge collapses in New Delhi, 5 killed
