The incident apparently took place in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra on Wednesday. It shows the Sena worker Pravin Shinde, a member of the Zila Parishad, slapping the bank employee after an altercation at a local branch of the bank.
Reacting to the incident in Yavatmal, Shiv Sena leader Neelam Gorhe said the party does not support such violence.
"We don't support what he did. However, let me also make it clear that there is frustration among masses over banks' apathy towards farmers," she told PTI.
Banks are insensitive to the needs of farmers, especially when it comes to crop loans, Gorhe said.
Asked what action would be taken against Shinde, the Sena spokesperson and MLC said it would be decided by the local unit in Yavatmal.
