Shekhar Suman quits Cong due to 'hectic schedule'

Bollywood actor-turned-television star Shekhar Suman on Saturday resigned from the Congress party, saying that he was unable to devote time for the party due to his hectic acting career.

"After much thought I have resigned from the primary membership of the Congress," Suman told mediapersons in Patna.

He said

that it was a great honour that he joined Congress and even contested last Lok Sabha polls from the Patna Sahib seat.

In 2009 Suman formally joined Congress and the party fielded his as its candidature from Patna Sahib parliamentary constituency against Bollywood actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
