Pakistan has asked India to send its officials to testify before its courts against those responsible for the Mumbai terror attack so that the accused can be punished.

"We have requested our Indian neighbours to provide us with evidence in the sense of allowing Indian officials who have knowledge of this matter, to travel to Pakistan and give evidence in our court," Pakistan Ambassador to the US Husain Haqqani said.

"We will be able to complete the prosecution process and convict these people," Haqqani told Fareed Zakaria in an interview on the popular CNN's Sunday Talk Show.

"The individuals who were responsible for the Mumbai attack are all now under arrest," he said in response to a question.

Pakistan has arrested seven suspects, including Lashkar e Tayiba operations commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, in connection with the Mumbai attacks and they are currently undergoing trial. India believes Pakistan-based Lashkar carried out the Mumbai attacks that killed 166 people.
