Sena leaders meet; solution in sight

December 14, 2005 15:38 IST

Solution to the 18-day crisis in the Shiv Sena appeared to be in sight following a meeting of its leaders with party chief Bal Thackeray at latter's residence in suburban Bandra, party sources said Wednesday.

Sena leader and former Lok Sabha speaker Manohar Joshi, who attended the meeting Tuesday night, told a news channel that the issue would be resolved within two to three days.

He, however, declined to divulge if any formula had been worked out regarding resolving the ongoing tussle between Thackeray cousins -- Udhav and Raj.

Crisis erupted in Sena following differences between the cousins, and Raj alleged on November 27 that the party was "being run by a coterie of clerks".

Raj, who had quit all Sena posts, has not divulged his future course of action so far.
