Shiv Sena Member of Legislative Assembly Ravindra Waikar, whose police security was withdrawn recently, has alleged that he has been receiving threatening calls.

Waikar, who is also the Standing Committee chairman in the municipal corporation, says he lost his security because he protested against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the latter's Mumbai visit on February 5.

The Sena MLA said he started getting threats soon after the government withdrew his security cover.

Waikar has registered a complaint with the MIDC police and written to Police Commissioner D Sivanandan, demanding that his security be restored.
