The Supreme Court on Tuesday a issued notice to Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Speaker K G Bopaiah on a petition challenging a decision to disqualify seven members of the assembly. The Speaker had passed the order of disqualification before the crucial trust vote that the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Karnataka faced a month back.
Seven MLAs, who were disqualified and were not permitted to vote, had approached the Karnataka high court and after they failed to obtain a favorable order, they moved SC seeking a reversal of the order.
