Sasikala Natarajan, close aide of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and co-accused in the wealth case against her, has filed a criminal petition in the Karnataka high court challenging a lower court order rejecting her plea seeking various documents pertaining to the case.

Counsel for Sasikala C Manishankhar filed the petition on Monday.

The petition challenges the special court order earlier this month rejecting the application filed by Sasikala seeking various documents which have been filed by the prosecution but not marked as exhibits in court.

The petition is likely to come up for hearing on Wednesday.

On April 3, Special Court Judge B M Mallikarjunaiah rejected the application filed by Manishankhar and adjourned the case to April 12 for further recording of Sasikala's statement.

The case, relating to alleged accumulation of wealth by Jayalalithaa when she was Chief Minister from 1991-95, had been transferred to Bangalore by the Supreme Court.
