A designated Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act court Thursday remanded extradited gangster Abu Salem and his alleged aide Riaz Siddiqui to judicial custody till March 1 and allowed Central Bureau of Investigation to file supplementary report on that day regarding their role in 1993 serial bomb blasts.

Designated Judge P D Kode remanded the duo to judicial custody after they were produced before the court amidst tight security.

CBI sought time till March 1 to file supplementary report, saying further investigations were on with regard to the role played by Salem and Siddiqui. The court considered their plea and granted time to file the report.

Meanwhile, the plea of Delhi police to seek Salem's custody in an extortion case was adjourned till March 2 as prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam argued that it could be considered after CBI files supplementary report on March 1.

The plea of Hyderabad police to seek Salem's custody in a fake passport case was also deferred on the same ground.

Salem is charged with supplying arms and ammunition to co-accused, including film actor Sanjay Dutt.

The prosecution's case is that Salem had gone to Dutt's house with other accused and delivered an AK-56 rifle to him.

The actor has denied the charges and the witnesses have also turned hostile.

However, Salem has confessed his role in the blasts, but the contents of the confession are not yet known as the confession is kept in a sealed cover before the court.

Copies of the confession will be given to the co-accused when CBI files supplementary report, court sources said.
