Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is upset with a section of the media -- particularly with some television news channels -- for what it termed as giving undue importance to a baseless story.
In a conversation with rediff.com, Ram Madhav, spokesperson of RSS, said that the Sangh does not interfere in day to day running of the Bhartiya Janata Party either directly or indirectly.
Madhav was referring to a story which stated that RSS top brass was unhappy with the BJP leadership for party's performance in the recently concluded elections for state assemblies of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttrakhand and Manipur.
The party lost seven seats in Punjab and the number of seats came down in heavily Uttar Pradesh as well. Though the party has come to power in Goa but it has failed to live upto expectations in UP where it was hoping to get more then 150 seats.
"I cannot understand how the media can mistake the views of editor of Panchjanya as Sangh's views," a visibly upset Madhav said.
According to Panchjanya, a newspaper published by the RSS, chief Mohan Bhagwat was upset with the BJP leadership and asked them to chalk out a fresh strategy for 2014 general elections.
According to sources Sangh has asked the party to emulate Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in matters relating to administration and delivering the desired results in order to win votes during the next general elections.
