The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday staged a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi against one year of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government's rule.

Protesters raised slogans against the Centre and carried placards reading, "RIP achche din" and "Achche dino ki punnya tithi".

"BJP president Amit Shah called a press conference and unsuccessfully tried to talk about the achievements of his government. They said that we have started the allocation of coal blocks and raised Rs 2 lakh crore due to that. Who are they fooling? The coal block allocation wasn't their choice but their obligation," said party leader Dilip Pandey.

The AAP protest comes a day after the Youth Congress protested against the Bharatiya Janata Party and alleged that the Central government had failed in fulfilling the tall promises it made to the country in the run up to the elections.

Prime Minister Modi took charge of his office on May 26 last year, after a historic election victory that gave the BJP the first parliamentary majority in 30 years and ended two terms of rule by the Congress.
