Karnataka Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda and his immediate predecessor B S Yeddyurrappa landed in the city and held talks with the Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Gadkari at his residence in Nagpur.

Gowda and Yeddyurappa flew by a special flight and then drove straight to Gadkari's residence in Mahal in eastern parts of the city to hold a closed-door meeting.

They were accompanied by Karnataka party general secretary Dharmendra Pradhan, joint organising secretary V Satish and organising secretary Santosh.

Top Karnataka leaders meeting with Gadkari has assumed significance in the wake of Central Bureau of Investigation arrests of party stalwart and former Minister Janaradhan Reddy and B V Srinivas Reddy in connection with the alleged illegal mining.

Gadkari, who was in Delhi earlier, arrived in Nagpur on Tuesday morning by a service flight and held talks with them for quite sometime. The Karnataka leaders will return after lunch at Gadkari's residence.
