The debate on Lokpal Bill was tonight disrupted when several members in the Rajya Sabha, particularly Left parties, created uproar, wanting to know whether the proceedings would continue after midnight as the extension of the Winter Session was till only December 29.
The House was adjourned abruptly at 11.28 pm for 15 minutes after members created ruckus while pressing their demand.
Minister of State for Personnel V Narayanasamy was replying to the 11-hour debate on the crucial bill when the uproar started.
"Nobody wants to listen to him. So why is he continuing," Communist Party of India-Marxist member Moinul Hassan said.
Hassan, joined by party colleagues and members of the Bharatiya Janata Party, wanted Chairman Hamid Ansari to clarify whether the House will continue after midnight or adjourn as the extension was only till December 29.
