The megapolis, scarred by the July 26 deluge, took no chances and warned fishermen from venturing into the sea as heavy rains lashed the city and its suburbs on Monday.
While rail and road traffic continued to be normal, the weather office warned of frequent spells of rain or thundershowers. Strong south-westerly winds with a speed 50 to 60 kmph, temporarily reaching 70 kmph, could also be blowing in the city.
The sea will be rough to very rough with southwesterly waves and the fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea for next 24 hours. Signal number LC 3 is hoisted along the Maharashtra-Goa coast from Dahanu to Marmagaon, the weather department sources said.
