Security breach for Rahul Gandhi in Kanpur

There was a breach in the security provided to Congress member of Parliament from Amethi, Rahul Gandhi, as the Uttar Pradesh government failed to provide him adequate cover for over an hour during his day-long visit to the industrial city of Kanpur on Friday.

It was the second such lapse in quick succession for the MP, and the same had happened with him during his visit to Uttarakhand earlier in the week. 

Thanks to the breach, Gandhi remained without state government security for more than an hour. Special Protection Group personnel faced some tense moments as the Congress general secretary was surrounded by students of Chandrashekhar Azad Agriculture University.
