Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed the federal laws on ratifying inter-governmental agreements with India on cooperation in space exploration, the Kremlin press office said on Sunday.
The laws were adopted by the State Duma (the lower house of Russia's Parliament), on October 20, and approved by the Federation Council (the upper house), on October 27.
During the visit of Putin to India in December 2004, the two countries had signed the agreements on cooperation in the study and use of space for peaceful purposes, and on long-term cooperation in joint development and use of the Russian global navigation satellite system for peaceful purposes.
The agreements envisage intensive bilateral cooperation in the field of space exploration to the mutual benefit of the two countries.
Earlier this year, during the visit of former defence minister Pranab Mukherjee, Russia also agreed to provide India access to GLONASS's military segment.
