Former British Columbia premier Ujjal Dev Singh Dosanjh on Tuesday made a nostalgic trip down memory lane, when he visited his village in Dosanjh Kalan, eight kilometers from Phagwara, in Punjab.

His visit surprised the villagers, who crowded round the former premier.

Ujjal first paid a visit to his ancestral fields he had worked in with his father, late Giani Pritam Singh.

He then visited his new haveli and the Shri Har Rai Khalsa School founded by his father.

Ujjal spent two hours in the village getting appraised on the problems facing the villagers.

His wife Raminder Kaur Dosanjh, son Aseem and his wife, including family friend Amrik Singh Sangha were also with him.
