“I am really proud of my wife. She has changed my life,” says Shoieb, who is a rickshaw driver in Forbesganj town in Araria district of Bihar.
He said the atmosphere in the home was festive as he and his six children were celebrating her brush with fame and winning a handsome amount on the show.
A beaming husband said that he sought inspiration from Fatima to work hard and live a truthful and honest life. “She is the icon in my life. She encouraged me to adopt a hard but honest life.”
He added that after his wife featured in show, he too had become famous in Forbesganj. “Suddenly, people are taking interest in me. I am no longer just an auto driver. I am now the husband of Fatima, who became popular thanks to KBC.
Shoieb further added that their dream of providing their children with good education could be achieved now and that they would be able to provide them with a better life, thanks to KBC.
Fatima, in her late 20s, along with Bollywood actress Rani Mukherji, who plays the lead role in the flim –Mardani, which is also based on child trafficking, appeared on KBC together. When Amitabh heard the story, he was touched and congratulated her for her bravery.
Now, Fatima works as an anti-trafficking campaigner and trains women from the red light area and also spreads light on the issue of trafficking.
