All states and union territories barring Lakshadweep sponsored the candidature of UPA-Left nominee Pratibha Patil, for the post of President.
This was disclosed by Priyaranjan Das Munshi at a press conference held in Parliament House on Saturday after the expiry of the deadline for filing nominations.
"Around 267 proposers and around 275 seconders comprising of MPs and MLAs have taken part in the nomination
process," he said.
