Preneet Kaur denies having any bank account overseas

Former minister responds to Sheela Bhatt/Rediff.com's questions.

In response to our report Preneet Kaur, the former minister of state at the ministry of external affairs in the United Progressive Alliance government, has sent her response.

Before publishing the report on Sunday morning Rediff.com had sought her response which came in late on Sunday evening after the report was posted.

In response to Rediff.com's query on the allegation that she held a bank account(s) in the HSBC's Geneva branch, Preneet Kaur, left, stated, 'In this regard I wish to state that I have never had and do not have any bank account overseas in my name with HSBC or any other such foreign bank abroad.'

In her response to Rediff.com question if the ministry of finance had sent her a query about such a bank account and her response, Prneet Kaur, whose husband Captain Amarinder Singh defeated Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Lok Sabha election from Amritsar, said in her e-mail, 'I have always replied in the negative to such like inquiries in the past as well.'
