A day after Union home minister Amit Shah reiterated that Citizenship Amendment Act won't be revoked, Janata Dal-United vice president Prashant Kishor on Wednesday challenged the former Bharatiya Janata Party president to "try implementing" the CAA and the National Register of Citizens.
"Being dismissive of citizens' dissent couldn't be the sign of strength of any Govt. @amitshah Ji, if you don't care for those protesting against #CAA_NRC, why dont you go ahead and try implementing the CAA & NRC in the chronology that you so audaciously announced to the nation!" Kishor said in a tweet.
Addressing a rally in Lucknow in support of the CAA, Shah on Tuesday emphatically said the CAA will not be withdrawn and those protesting can continue to do so even as he challenged opposition leaders for a public debate on the contentious law.
Kishor has been critical of the citizenship law since its introduction even though his party supported in the Parliament.
