PM leaves for India

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on Saturday, left London for home after a three-day visit to Britain during which he participated in the G8 Summit.

Dr Singh held talks with French President Jacques Chirac. However, his meeting with British Prime Minister Tony Blair was cancelled because of the terror attacks in London.

Dr Singh was conferred with an honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law by the Oxford university in recognition of his role as a statesman and leading economist.
