Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday held consultations with his senior Cabinet colleagues on a number of issues including the Anna Hazare episode and the impeachment proceedings against Justice Soumitra Sen.
Singh went into huddle with UPA's trouble shooter Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P Chidambaram and senior ministers Kapil Sibal, Pawan Kumar Bansal and Minister of State in the PMO, V Narayansami.
Sources said various issues were discussed during the meeting including the Hazare episode and the impeachment proceedings against Justice Sen, which began in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
Asked what will be the government's strategy in dealing with Hazare, a minister, who declined to be identified, said that the home minister had already spoken about the government's views in Parliament.
Meanwhile, Anna Hazare team on Wednesday alleged that the Gandhian is not being given access to television or his mobile phone.
"Anna's health is fine. However, Anna and his team are not being given access to TV and Anna his mobile phone, even though the police claim he is free now," a statement issued by the Hazare Team claimed.
Hazare has refused to come out of Tihar jail till an unconditional permission is given to him to hold an indefinite fast and his team is in discussions with police.
