PHOTOS: Inside a quarantine centre in Delhi

Delhi, which was one of the worst COVID-19 affected areas in the country, has seen a decline in the number of new cases.

However, in June Delhi continuously saw highest spike of new cases and deaths almost everyday.

Amid spiralling coronavirus cases, Commonwealth Games Village -- constructed as a living area for athletes participating in the 2010 Commonwealth Games -- converted into a COVID-19 care centre.

The 500-bedded COVID-19 facility has been linked with Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, the biggest COVID-dedicated hospital in Delhi.

The badminton and tennis courts converted into hospital wards in order to take pressure off the other Covid facilities.

This Covid centre accommodates only non-critical patients. The centre is 1,700-feet long, 700-feet wide -- roughly the size of 20 football fields -- and have 200 enclosures with 50 beds each.

Around 70% of the beds are connected with oxygen supply, but there are no ICU or ventilator facility. The patients will be monitored and those developing critical symptoms will be sent to the dedicated government hospitals for management.
