The Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago held dance performances at a multicultural event at the Hunting Ridge Elementary School in Palatine, Illinois, April 21.

Fifteen students from Hunting Ridge presented a dance/fashion show, choreographed by Rajneesh Nandra, a school parent-teacher's association official and a PCS volunteer, to the tune of the song Jai Ho. Next came Kaum Punjab Di Bhangra, choreographed by Pardeep Deol and Navjot Multani and led by Rajinder Singh Mago.

The PCS Bhangra team Shaan Punjab Di, coordinated by Mohinderjit Singh Saini, performed at the Owen Elementary School in Naperville, April 25, where the Turkish American Cultural Alliance celebrated International Children's Day.
PCS volunteers gave bhangra lessons to students at St Anastasia Middle School in Waukegan, Illinois, in a week-long program. A select team of the students presented a bhangra item at the end of their training at their school multicultural event.

'We need to share our rich Indian heritage and culture with our friends and neighbors in our adopted land,' said Mago, 'and it's better to catch them young.'
