The Patna High Court on Monday granted bail to former Member of Parliament Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav in connection with the killing of Communist Party of India-Marxist MLA Ajit Sarkar in Purnea.
Justice R S Garg allowed Pappu Yadav's petition for regular bail in the case. Sarkar was shot dead at Purnea in 1998.
Pappu Yadav had yesterday resigned from the primary membership of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) of Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan to contest the bypoll to Madhepura Lok Sabha seat.
