With tensions rising between India and Pakistan on the Line of Control, Pakistan has decided to suspend the bus service between Poonch and Rawalakot, without giving an official reason.

Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff General Asfaq Pervez Kayani has also reportedly ordered the cancellation of leaves of all army personnel.

The decision to suspend the bus service comes in the wake of increasing hostility between the troops of two nations along the LoC.

There have been reports of an increase in the exchange of fire increasing along the LoC in the Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, where two Indian soldiers were killed and mutilated earlier this week.

The Poonch-Rawalakot bus service was the second such service between the two countries, which was much welcomed by Kashmiris on either side of the LoC. It was launched in 2006.

A bus service connecting Srinagar and Muzaffarabad was launched in 2005.
