Pakistan on Friday night said it would have responded positively if India had requested overflight permission for Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's aircraft on his recent trip to Germany.

It described media reports about refusal of overflight permission as 'tendentious'. A press release of the Pakistani high commission said Islamabad never received any request from the Indian government.

"Pakistan regrets that at this nascent stage of the peace process, a section of the media is indulging in such an irresponsible disinformation campaign," the release said.
