Satyabrata Pal, India's envoy to South Africa, was on Monday appointed as the next High Commissioner to Pakistan.
Pal, who succeeds Shiv Shankar Menon, is expected to take up his assignment shortly, an official announcement said.
Menon earlier this month took charge as the new foreign secretary superseding 15 IFS officers.
Y K Sinha, Consul General in Dubai, was appointed as India's next Ambassador to Venezuela.
