Denying reports that he is on his way out, Pakistan Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said he has neither resigned nor has anyone asked him to do so.

"People should believe when the prime minister is saying something and it is improper for him to keep clarifying on a day-to-day basis about his post, Jamali told reporters in Islamabad.

The clarification comes amidst speculation since one month that President Gen Pervez Musharraf intends to remove him as part of a move to revamp the government.

Jamali, a former bodyguard of Pakistan founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah's wife, has repeatedly denied the rumours.
