"We have learnt a great deal about A Q Khan's network -- information we had before the recent revelations as well as  additional information we have acquired from the Pakistani authorities as a result of their inquiries," he said.

Powell, however, did not reveal the details of the information while jointly appearing with South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-Moon on Friday.

"I think we are learning a great deal more about the network and we are tracking the network to all of its various customers and all of the different parts of the network infrastructure.

"And I think we have pretty much taken the network apart in the sense that it is not going to be much in the future, and we are going to work hard to pull up everything that we know about it from the past," Powell said.

Powell will be visiting Pakistan during his South Asian tour beginning on March 14.
