Pakistan's Kashmir Committee chairman Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan on Monday admitted his failure in coming up with any fresh ideas to resolve the Kashmir issue and said the proposal for converting the Line of Control into permanent border must be considered seriously.
"The proposal for LoC conversion could help in resolving the more than five-decade old Kashmir issue," Khan was quoted saying in Pakistani Urdu daily Khabrian.
He claimed that Pakistan's case on Kashmir was "strong enough" and urged Islamabad not to feel scared of any proposal from the United States of America or India in this regard.
"[Prime Minister] Zaffarullah Khan Jamali's government should evolve a comprehensive policy on Kashmir after holding consultations with former foreign ministers and Kashmiri leaders," Khan said.
The armed struggle [in Kashmir] could help only in raising the issue of Kashmir but cannot lead to a solution, he added.
