A defence spokesman said Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing using small arms and automatic weapons to target ‘Indian posts in the BG sector of the LoC in Poonch district’.
"The firing is still continuing. We are retaliating with matching calibre weapons," the spokesman S N Acharya said.
The two countries had announced a bilateral ceasefire along LoC and international border in November 2003.
