Demanding that Pakistan "comes clean" on the issue of support network of slain Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, Germany on Friday said the international community was worried about a possible collaboration between some members of the Pakistani security apparatus and terrorists.
"After the United States operation in Abottabad, Pakistan must answer questions about support network of bin Laden. It is important that the Pakistan government comes clean on the possible role of the Pakistan army and people in supporting bin Laden and other terror outfits," said Thomas Matussek German ambassador to India.
Calling the killing of bin Laden as a "heavy mortal blow" to the Al Qaeda, the German envoy said, "We believe that Al Qaeda has been weakened by the death of Osama bin Laden, but there still remains serious threats."
He also maintained that exit policy of western forces in Afghanistan was not dependent on Osama's killing and German troops were there for the long haul.
Matussek praised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's "wise, reserved and moderate" policy on Pakistan. "We very much appreciate the commitment of the prime minister to carry forward the dialogue process with Pakistan. We support his assessment that there is no alternative to dialogue," he said.
