"Pakistani Rangers resorted to intermittent small arms firing on the border outposts along the IB in the Arnia sector of Jammu since late last (Tuesday) night," a senior BSF officer told PTI.
BSF troops guarding the borderline retaliated resulting in intermittent exchanges which continued till 7 am hours, he said, adding that there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing.
The firing comes after BSF foiled an infiltration bid in the area on Tuesday.
On January 13, there was firing by Pakistani Rangers in Samba sector. Pakistan also resorted to firing of mortar shells and small arms along the IB in Hiranagar belt of Kathua district on January 11.
On January 6, there was ceasefire violation by Pakistan Rangers along the IB in Kathua district.
