Pakistani Marine Security Agency has arrested an Indian fisherman from the Arabian sea and released the nine others accompanying him, a senior official of the National Fish Forum said Wednesday.

The released fishermen reached Porbander on Wednesday, NFF Secretary Manish Lodhari said, adding the arrested has been identified as Mukesh Kotda.

"The incident took place in the Arabian sea near the international maritime border on Tuesday, where the Pakistani agency arrested ten fishermen and seized their two boats," Lodhari said.

"They (PMSA) later released nine of them, who reached here in a boat," he added.

Lodhari said Kotda, who is from Porbander district, has been taken to Karachi by the PMSA.

Earlier this month, PMSA had arrested 34 Indian fishermen and seized their seven boats from the same area while they were fishing.

According to NFF President Hiralal Shiyal, over 500 fishermen are already languishing in Pakistan custody. Shiyal said over 400 boats were seized by the PMSA over the past five years.
