An agitated Opposition on Thursday paralysed proceedings in the Lok Sabha demanding privilege action against Defence Minister George Fernandes over the denial of a CVC report on Kargil arms purchases to the Public Accounts Committee.

Congress members repeatedly stormed the well raising anti-government slogans forcing Deputy Speaker P M Sayeed to adjourn the House for the day.

Earlier, Speaker Manohar Joshi had adjourned the House thrice.

Samajwadi Party members joined the Congress in the well before the speaker adjourned the House for the first time
during the stalled Question Hour, but later chose to remain in their seats.

Fernandes, who faces a boycott by the Congress, the Left and the Rashtriya Janata Dal over the Tehelka expose, was present in the House when the members trained their guns at him.
