Three Indians -- Roshan Seth, Supriya Banerji and Jag Mohan Puri -- have been conferred the Order of the British Empire for outstanding contribution in cementing Indo-British relations through business, education, theatre and film and television, the British High Commission announced in New Delhi on Thursday.

Seth was conferred the honour in recognition of his work in theatre, film and television.

Banerji was honoured for her outstanding contribution to co-operation between Indian and British business while Puri was given the OBE for furthering Indo-British relations in education and commerce.

British High Commissioner to India, Sir Michael Arthur, who conferred the honours to the three at his residence in New Delhi, said, "'We are greatly honoured to confer the Order of the British Empire award on Miss Banerji, Mr Puri and Mr Seth. Their outstanding contribution in cementing UK-India relations through diverse fields like business, education, theatre, film and television is a fine example to us all."
