Aamir Khan, who turned 51 on Monday, believes that going from the lime light of the film studios to the lime light of active public life is not right, unless passion is involved.

"There are a few stars from our Bollywood industry who have been in politics -- Shatrughanji, Vinod Khannaji, Raj Babbarji and even Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) for sometimes. I feel passion is needed for doing some work," the PK star told the media in Mumbai, while sharing his viewpoint on actors turning politicians.

He added, "I think those people should get into politics who really have passion for it. Getting into politics just because you are famous is not right."

Khan further said that getting involved in politics is not the only way to serve one's country, adding that he can contribute with his current position to the nation building sans the fray.

"As far as I am concerned, I feel I don't need to get into politics to donate my share of contribution for the society. I can contribute to society as an artist. I can contribute to the nation building, from the position I am in now," Aamir said.

He further said that his upcoming movie Dangal is one of his ways of contributing to the society as it revolves around the government's 'Beti Bachao' social scheme.
