The Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed surprise at news reports that a country like Bangladesh, too, has an anti-terror law.
Talking to rediff.com, Ravi Shankar Prasad, official spokesperson, said though the law had been designed to meet challenges by terrorists outfits within Bangladesh, but one must not overlook the fact that they have an anti-terror law.
"I hope the UPA government takes a lesson from Bangladesh and reintroduces tough measures to counter terrorism in India. Though the prime minister has talked about need to have a federal investigating agency to investigate terror-related crimes, he has not specified the details," Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
The BJP said the party had no intention of changing the dates of the national executive to be held in the last week of this month and first two days of June in Jaipur.
"I am told that Pakistani Rangers opened fire on our troops while our foreign minister Pranab Mukherjee and team of high-ranking officials were on its way to Pakistan. This is the third such incident of its kind," he said.
