President Kalam to tour Kerala on Saturday

President A P J Abdul Kalam will inaugurate the newly built Ayurveda Hospital Complex at the Kochi Ayurveda College in Kerala on December 17 during his two-day visit to the state.

A Rashtrapati Bhawan press note said that the President would interact with the students of the college after the inauguration.

In the afternoon, he would meet the students of the Pragati International Residential school in Kochi. He would spend the night at the Raj Bhavan.

On the second leg of his tour, President Kalam would visit Ernakulam and take part in several functions.

He will inaugurate the Karshaka Mela (artisans fair) on Sunday organised by the Gandhiji Study Centre at Thodupuzha. 

Kalam will also inaugurate the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the Kerala History Association at Ernakulam, followed by a visit to the Parumala Unit Area of the International Centre for Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Diseases in Parumala.

"Later in the day, he will inaugurate the houses built for Tsunami victims in Kollam District and inaugurate the International Symposium on Transnational Research: Apoptosis & Cancer in Thiruvananthapuram," the press note said.

The President will conclude his visit with an interaction with the students of Sree Gokulam Medical College and Research Foundation in the city. He will return to New Delhi late in the night.
