India, Oman discuss ways to boost ties

India has discussed ways to give a boost to the defence ties with the Sultanate of Oman, a media report said.

India's Defence Secretary Vijay Singh, who is currently visiting Oman, held talks with the country's Defence Minister Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Hareb Al Busaidi at Muscat on Sunday and discussed the ways to boost defence ties, Oman news agency said.

During the meeting, the existing cooperation between the two countries in military fields were also discussed, the report said.

Undersecretary at Oman's Ministry of Defence Mohammed bin Nasir Al Rasbi and Indian Ambassador to Oman Anil Wadhwa also attended the meeting.

Singh also met chief of staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces Lieutenant-General Ahmed bin Harith Al Nabhani and exchanged views on the matters of common concern were reviewed.
