5 Indians for Physics Olympiad

Five students from across the country would participate in the 36th International Physics Olympiad in Salamanca, Spain, from July 3 to 12.

R Arjun (Bangalore), M Hema Chandra Prakash (Hyderabad), N Tejaswi Venumadhav (Hyderabad), Piyush Srivastava (Allahabad) and Sameer Madan (Panchkula) were on Wednesday selected from 56 students, who came for a training camp at Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education in Mumbai, according to the national coordinator, Science Olympiads Prof Vijay Singh.

Singh announced the names of the students at the valedictory function of HBCSE, which is the nodal training centre for national science Olympiads. Earlier, after a nationwide screening of over 30,000 students by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers, the 56 students who attended the camp were selected, Singh added.
