Bharatiya Janata Party legislators on Monday protested in front of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's office at the secretariat demanding the resignation of Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti.

"I gave an open letter to Arvind Kejriwal from Delhi's citizens and our side, and I said that he has been talking about healthy politics all this while, and therefore Somnath Bharti should be expelled from party," said BJP leader Harshvardhan.

"I have told him all my points and he has accepted my letter. I have also told him that we will continue with my protest till our demands are not met," he added.

A report has been filed over the controversial midnight raid led by Bharti, in which four Ugandan women were allegedly mistreated.

Bharti had alleged that the Ugandan nationals were part of a drug and prostitution racket and asked the police to raid the place and arrest them. However, police refused to comply with his demand.

The Supreme Court has also issued a notice to central government and Delhi government on Kejriwal's recent protest and has asked for reply in next six weeks.

The notice was issued during a hearing of Public Interest Litigation, which was filed by lawyer M L Sharma, against Aam Aadmi Party over their protest outside the railway ministry, which amounted to a breakdown of the constitutional machinery.
