No threat to BJP government in Karnataka: Shettar

After the conclusion of the mammoth rally by former Chief Minister B S Yedyurappa at Haveri in north Karnataka, the Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka has said that there was no danger to their government, and it would complete its full term.

Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, reacting to the taunt by Yeddyurappa defying him to dissolve the house said that there was no question of doing that. "We will complete our term," Shettar told reporters in Hubli.

The BJP says that there is no danger to their government and they enjoy the support of 120 members of Legislative Assembly. "At the most there were 12 BJP leaders at the KJP launchon Sunday, and even if all of them quit, the government still won't be in danger," claimed Shettar.

He added that they were in discussions with their leaders in New Delhi on the next course of action to be taken against the leaders who attended the KJP launch.

The BJP had suspended one member of Parliament and sacked one cabinet minister on Saturday for associating themselves with Yeddyurappa. However, at the Sunday rally, Yeddyurappa warned that if further action was taken against these leaders, the consequences would be dire and the BJP will have to face an early election in Karnataka.
