Nine school students and a teacher drowned on Thursday when their van fell into a pond at a village in Vedaranyam block, nearly 60 km from Poraya, in Tamil Nadu.
The van was carrying 25 students and two teachers when the mishap occurred at Kathripulam village, police said.
Some of the students received minor injuries
