A day after picking up five people for questioning, the police have prepared a sketch of the man who sent an email from Kashmir's Kishtwar district, claiming responsibility for the Delhi high court blast.
As per the description provided by the detained people, including the cyber cafe owner, the sender is a 17-18 year old boy, and the police are hopeful of tracking the suspect soon.
"We are hopeful of catching the suspect soon," said Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda.
According to the police, the sketch of the suspect has been prepared on the basis of the information provided by the five detained people, including cyber cafe owner Masood Aziz, during day-long interrogations in Kishtwar district by a team led by Deputy Inspector General of Police of Kishtwar-Doda-Ramban range Muneesh Sinha.
The sketch is likely to be released by the National Investigation Agency, which is probing the Delhi blast, in which 13 people were killed.
Investigators had traced the HuJI email claiming responsibility for Wednesday's blast outside the Delhi high court to a cyber cafe in Kishtwar.
Besides the cafe owner, the other detained persons have been identified as the shop owner's brother Majid and their servant Ashwani, besides Imran and Ashiq Hussain.
Imran and Ashiq were using computer terminals in two other cabins at the time when the email was sent from another terminal adjacent to them, police said.
A team of NIA and experts from Hyderabad are in Kishtwar to probe the email link with the Delhi blast.
The police will be conducting raids at several places in the state on Friday to track down the suspected email sender.
The cafe has been sealed and policemen in plainclothes have been deputed outside the shop in Kishtwar town.
The Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami had on Wednesday claimed responsibility for the blast outside the Delhi high court which killed 13 people.
"We own responsibility of the blast at the High Court, Delhi. Our demand is that Afzal Guru's death sentence should be repealed immediately as we would target major High Courts and the Supreme Court of India," the HuJI email had said.
The Delhi police have in the past arrested several HuJI militants from the national capital.
Kishtwar was once the hub of the HuJI, but in the last few years there has been no activity of the outfit in the area.
