A terminal of the busy Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey was temporarily closed on Monday following a bomb scare, while police was investigating a suspicious package reported by one of the passengers.
Terminal A of the airport, one of the busiest airports in the US, was closed down for about half an hour, officials said.
Authorities said the suspicious package was found behind American Airlines ticket counter at a security check point where bags were screened.
Federal investigating authorities who reached the scene immediately cleared the suspicious package.
The package was reported to be a computer monitor emitting a small amount of radiation.
TV footage showed a large number of emergency vehicles outside the terminal.
